**Enter the Arena: Tam Robotics Open Air Competition!**

Calling all young engineers! Join us at the **LI Maker Faire** for a high-octane robot combat tournament. We’re providing ** custom arenas** and a fleet of **combat robots**—all you need to bring is your driving skill.

**The Challenge:**

  • **Battle:** Pilot a robot in head-to-head combat.

  • **Earn:** Every win gets you an official sticker.

  • **Repeat:** Compete as many times as you can during our 2-hour window.

**The Grand Prize:**
The pilot with the most stickers at the end of the event will be crowned the **LI Maker Faire Champion** and take home an exclusive, **custom 3D-printed trophy!**

Don't miss your chance to drive, compete, and win. See you at the arenas!

What inspired you to make this project?
Whether it’s for a "Meet the Maker" board or a social media post, here is a note that captures the heart behind why you do what you do:
## **Why I Build. Why We Fight.**
To me, combat robotics has always been about more than just machines in an arena; it’s about the spark that happens when a child picks up a controller for the first time.
I hold the **Tam Robotics Open Air Competition** because I believe that engineering should be felt, not just studied. There is a unique kind of magic in seeing a kid realize that something they see on a screen is actually a physical machine they can master. By providing the arenas and the robots, I want to remove the barriers to entry and invite every child to see themselves as a creator, a pilot, and a problem-solver.
The stickers and the trophy are fun rewards, but the true prize is watching a child’s confidence grow with every match. Whether they win or lose, they are learning resilience, physics, and the thrill of innovation. I do this to fuel that curiosity and to help inspire the next generation of makers who will build the world of tomorrow—one battle at a time.

What are some of the challenges you have encountered and how did you address them?
"We started this journey four years ago, and honestly, we made plenty of mistakes along the way—and we’re still learning! But through those challenges, the combat robotics community gave my family an incredible STEM education and a sport we truly love. I’m holding this competition to give back to that community and to share the thrill of engineering with the next generation of makers."
