Michael Albert / Modern Pop Art Experience / Hands-On Collage workshop

Michael ALBERT
Michael Albert has been making art for over 30 years since his college days at New York University, where he studied business. His work has evolved from doodling & drawing to collage. He is nationally known for making colorful, detailed collages out of cereal boxes & the printed cardboard packaging of consumer brands. He has developed a body of work on a variety of themes including cubist portraits, color studies, logo montages, and text based works on subjects such as literature, quotes & sayings, lyrics, geography, religion, mathematics & others. In the past 15 years, he has been creating large "Epic" scale collages that can take weeks, months & even more than a year to create. He is also the published author of an artist autobiography titled, "An Artist's America" (Henry Holt, 2008) and is the founder/owner & artist for a brand of foods & beverages called Sir Real. Finally, he has developed a traveling art enrichment program called the Modern Pop Art Experience, which is a combination of artist visit & talk, hands-on collage workshop & free poster giveaway & signing, which he has brought to venues all over the USA & in Europe including schools, libraries, museums, art festivals & maker faires.
