I give wood a second chance at life. Most times when we hear a tree coming down we think nothing of it. I think of the history of that tree. How long it stood, what it had seen, etc. So I try to immortalize it the best way I can.

I'm a 41 year old who had been into woodworking for 6 years, the least 3 being primarily focused on lathe based work. My main form of art that I produce is called basket illusion. In this artform, a bowl, dish or hollow form is made to look like it's comprised of thousands of strung together beads when in reality I form and ink them one at a time.

The need to impress upon people the value, and need, for things that are handcrafted by local artists.
