Artfully Unplugged

Art & Design
Alcohol Ink has a mind of its own. Instead of trying to control it, work with it. Artfully Unplugged creations reflect the idea of being kind, spirited and imperfect. Stop by to see what it's all about.

Part of a crazy fun family that includes 3 kids and 6 cats (yes, 6 cats!). With a background in Mass Communications and Special Education, she now spends her time volunteering with various organizations, from Animal Rescue to PTA. Never listen to someone who tells you that you can't do something. "I can't draw a recognizable stick figure, but using Alcohol Inks, I've created magical art. I'm hooked on the unpredictability, and looking forward to the journey of exploring different mediums."

What inspired you to make this project?
I discovered Alcohol Ink last summer. After attending the ELIMMF we went over to the Sachem Public Library Steam Con. They had a maker booth doing Alcohol Ink on tiles. I did it along with my kids and loved it. The next day I started doing research, joining AI Facebook groups and went out to purchase materials. I spend a part of every day watching tutorials and reading up on techniques, getting ideas of how I can put my own spin on things. I just started inking washers for necklaces and decided to try adding metal stamping as a component to my work. One of the parts I love most about this adventure is experimenting with different materials, techniques and watching my progress as I get better at the craft.
