FIRST Long Island Robotics
FIRST Long Island is the non-profit all volunteer organization that administers FIRST Robotics Competitions for students K-12 on Long Island. Over 5,000 students are building robots for friendly competitions in four different age and skills groups.

Founded in 1984 as School-Business Partnerships of Long Island (SBPLI) as an all-volunteer organization to create partnerships between industry and schools to inspire students to pursue careers in STEM related fields. To achieve this mission, in 1999 SBPLI partnered with FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) to host its robotics programs. In 2018 SBPLI does business as FIRST Long Island.
