The 2026 Call for Makers for Maker Faire Long Island is now open. Join us on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Stony Brook University from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Calling All Makers and STEM Organizations

Maker Faire Long Island is a family-friendly celebration of everything people build, grow, invent, and create. We bring together science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) alongside craft, music, workshops, hands-on demonstrations, and live performance.

This is your chance to share what you make with a crowd that genuinely wants to see it. Whether you are a weekend hobbyist, a seasoned maker, an educator, or an organization pushing the boundaries of what is possible, if you embrace the DIY or do-it-together spirit, you belong at this Faire.

We are especially looking for exhibits that are interactive, highlight the making process, or connect to STEM in a meaningful way. If you can get attendees involved and curious, even better.

Contact us at LIMakerFaire@longislandexplorium.org with any questions.

Exhibitor Fees and Participation Details

There is no upfront fee for individuals, schools, and community groups to exhibit.

There is a participation fee for small businesses, and startups that plan to sell products they make at the event. Commercial vendor fees range from $100 to $300, depending on booth size and event needs.

Non commercial participants are not charged a fee.

Crafters and small sellers who would like to participate but may not meet the commercial vendor threshold may instead choose to contribute 20% of net event sales or a flat $50 fee to help support the Faire.

Our goal is to keep participation affordable while also supporting the long term sustainability of Maker Faire Long Island so we can continue producing this event for the community for years to come.

Established companies and those looking to advertise are encouraged become a sponsor, which includes valuable visibility and sponsor benefits.

We receive a strong response from the community and typically get more applications than available exhibit space. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and evaluated case by case. Once you apply, we will follow up with you regarding your status. Applications are reviewed weekly.

Thank you for your interest and support.

Ways to Participate as a Maker

Maker Exhibit:
Showcase what you make and how you make it. Individuals, businesses, schools, groups, and organizations are all welcome to apply for an exhibit space. Interactive displays are encouraged. If you are applying as a group, please designate one point of contact to coordinate your application and booth.

Presentation in the Workshop Area or on Stage:
Have a story to tell, a skill to teach, or an idea worth spreading? Presenters at our shared stage can offer demos, how-tos, workshops, talks, or panel conversations. This is open to individual makers, groups, and exhibitors who want to engage the audience beyond their booth. Hands-on activities with provided materials and supplies are welcome.

Before You Apply, Please Read This

A few things that will help your application stand out and move through our review smoothly:

  • Read everything. We know it is tempting to skim, but the details matter. Please read each section carefully before filling it out.
  • Be descriptive. The more we know about your project, exhibit, or idea, the better we can support you and place you appropriately.
  • Spell check, especially your email address. Email is our primary way of reaching you, and a typo there means we cannot get in touch.
  • A photo is required. Please upload a high resolution, landscape image at least 900px wide by 600px tall (3:2 ratio). If your project is still in progress, a work-in-progress shot, your organization logo, or a school or club logo works just fine.
  • Indoor or shaded space needs. If your exhibit cannot be outdoor, please note in your application that you require an indoor location.
  • Let us know about space needs. Do you need electric run, wi-fi, space for demos, etc? Please provide as much detail as possible or contact us with questions.
